Portfolio

Sycosure has offered many services over the years. However, as our company grew, we began limiting the number of services we offered to focus on what we deemed to be the best of our services.

This portfolio is separated into 3 parts:

  • Our marketing portfolio, which details various marketing projects we've worked on.
  • Our web design portfolio, which goes over some of our favourite web design projects.
  • Our graphic design portfolio, showing various graphic designs we've made for clients.

Marketing Portfolio

These are various marketing projects we've worked on over the years.

Of course we do marketing for ourselves? What else would you expect?

Everything about the way Sycosure has been built was done by us and us alone. We've primarily done search engine optimisation and pay-per-click advertising for this website, and of course, we also have our blog that we use to write content to either promote material, discuss internet marketing, or showcase something we've learnt. This even brings in new clients from time to time.

As many of you are aware, our primary client was Black Hat World.

Our marketing efforts for Black Hat World surrounded our roles as community and marketplace managers, although we also worked on their support desk.

Really, the amount of work we did for Black Hat World is too extensive to even cover here. If you'd like to learn more, you can read about the work completed on our company owner's Linkedin profile.

As this is another one of our properties, we've naturally worked on running promotions for our own forum. In just the short time it's been around, it's already garnered a decent amount of daily engagement and sign-ups. In fact, our forum is now rivaling Sycosure in terms of daily views despite being a decade younger.

The reason we're able to grow this forum is due to our extensive experience working for Black Hat World as administrators, support desk agents, and marketplace managers.

Web Design Portfolio

These are web design projects we've worked on over the years.

That's right! We worked on the design for Sycosure, but we will confess it's not entirely unique design. It's actually a child theme of a pre-existing theme we paid for many years ago.

Our child theme has many adjustments made to it, specifically to the styling sheet rather than the position of elements, to give it a more unique feel that you won't find anywhere else on the web.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/Tsakanikas-Law-1-1920x974.jpg

Tsakanikas Law was one of our first web design clients! We created the theme for Tsakanikas Law by making a child theme of an existing theme that we felt mostly fit the look they were going for. Similarly to what we did for Sycosure, the child theme had many changes made to it to give it a unique feel.

Exotic Birds Unlimited Homepage

Exotic Birds Unlimited is one of our more recent web design clients. They were looking for a website that felt exotic, so as we usually do, we found a paid WordPress theme mostly fit the look they were going for. However, the child theme we created for them was much more heavily edited. We even went through the effort of including unique transitions and elements on the website for the images (which we took ourselves when we visited the store).

Billy Batson Music was another one of our first web design clients. Billy, who later became a good friend of the owner of Sycosure, was a musician  who was looking for someone who could complete a unique-looking website tailored specifically to his tastes.

In the end, we ended up delivering the website exactly as he imagined it would look. We were very happy that he was happy with the end result.

We designed the current website for GlobalMLX. This was the first time we designed a Wix website, as this is what they specifically requested. Despite Wix's limitations, we managed to mostly create a website that used their branding guidelines and in the vision they had. Unfortunately, due to their limited budget, this web design project remains unfinished to this day, but the progress we did make with it shows our ability to work with even a limited platform.

We even worked on the design for the forum we own! This is actually a fairly unqiue design in terms of elements, positions, and colour scheme based on Xenforo's default theme.

Whilst we won't keep this design forever, we are still proud of the design we managed to come up with on an entirely platform than we've worked on before.

Graphic Design Portfolio

These are graphic design projects we've worked on over the years. Many of these graphics were for our previous client, DotCom Consultancy We still possess the .psd and .ai files for all of these graphic designs, and we can show proof of this to any serious clients we have for our upcoming graphic design projects.

BHW Partners Offer

This was a banner we created for the advertising department of Blackhatworld.com.

We were required to keep the banner simple because the banner sizes on the forum were so small, so we included what we felt was a modern design with basic text and the BHW globe to emphasise the ads relation to the forum. After all, the ad was for a partnership between NordVPN and Black Hat World, so we wanted to show that unity.

Similarly to the other banner ad we created for Black Hat World's advertising department, this one was limited in terms of space, so we needed to include a banner minimum amount of text alongside what we felt was a modern design.

The comment further of this banner ad, we needed to include a call-to-action, so we came up with "Check it" for two reasons:

  1. It's not a commonly used CTA, so we figured it would be more likely to catch attention.
  2. Black Hat World is known for having many users who do not natively speak English. We figured having a CTA that sounded a little off would be more appealing to them.

We created this favicon in 2022 for Black Hat World. They needed a simple favicon (as favicons are meant to be simple) that used their recognisable globe.

As of 2025, this favicon is still used on BHW.

This is a logo we made for a product called "Stealth Cloaker".

We weren't provided with much in terms of what they wanted for their design, so we went with an 80's aesthetic just because we thought it would make for a unique logo for their sales graphic, which we also created for them and you find in this same portfolio.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/Stealth-Cloaker-Sales-Graphic-2000x7569.jpg

This is the full-length sales graphic we made for Stealth Cloaker so that they could open up a sales thread in Black Hat World's marketplace.

Just like the logo, the entire sales graphic has an 80's aesthetic. We weren't given much time or any instructions for this project, but we are still proud of how this one came out.

We even came up with all of the text used in this sales graphic, so this is also a testament to our content writing abilities.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/Sycosure-Logo-Extended-Adjusted-Homepage-1500x500.png

We even came up with the logo for Sycosure.

This logo was created with trust in mind; we wanted people who visited the website to know that our company could be trusted, which is why we went with a shade of blue that some banks would consider using.

We turned the 'S' in our company's name into two crescents to give the company a sort of "night time" theme.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/2w86Not-950x1296.jpg

As many of you in the online marketing community are aware, our company founder, Alistair Kavalt, was Zwielicht on Black Hat World.

A couple of years after joining, he created a sales thread for a keyword research service. Whilst we don't offer keyword research services these days, he did come up with the entire sales graphic, which features a blueprint design.

As with all of our work, even the content was written by him.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/1-1-192x192.png

Many of you who know our founder under the username "Zwielicht" will know that around the internet, he often uses this image as his avatar.

This is actually an image of himself that he heavily edited in Photoshop to give it a film noir look, but it's another example of our graphic design efforts.

Coding Projects

Yes, we have quite a varied background, don't we? Many of the coding projects we did were, you guessed it, part of the work we did for Black Hat World, owned by DotCom Consultancy. Unfortunately, we do have as much to share in this category for the moment.

https://www.sycosure.com/wp-content/uploads/JS-Bulk-Close-script-2857x565.png

This was a Javascript we came up with in order to make moderating on Xenforo platforms easier. It's a bulk close script that automatically selects threads for moderation and skips to the next page. If you create this script in a bookmark, you can repeatedly click the bookmark button to select threads in bulk.
